After Fiona's release, she is starting to have a normal and happy life because of her new job at the diner, and even her new boyfriend, Gus. Soon, they get married even though it has only been a few weeks they have been going out. In the middle of their relationship, Jimmy comes back to Chicago wanting to get together with Fiona again. Fiona doesn't feel anything with what Jimmy still feels for her. She is definitely over him. Sammi and Chuckie are still around in the house, still helping Frank. She expects Carl to take care of Chuckie around school. The typical Carl does but not in a good way. He gets him into serious trouble such as drug dealing. Currently, that is his job now. Ian finds out that he has a bipolar disorder that was from his mom. People in his surroundings observe it from his behavior in the community. One scene would be when Ian steals Mickey's baby and drives to Florida from Chicago. After he is found by Mickey, Fiona puts him in a mental hospital to get treatment. With Debs having no friends, she starts to get aggressive so she starts to take a self-defense because her friends are making her mad. In the self-defense class, he meets a new guy named Derek after her break-up with her ex, Matty. Lip is in a fake relationship with this rich girl, Amanda, who goes to the same college as him. They were fine with a fake relationship because Amanda just wants to show her parents that she is not a goodie two-shoes, and Lip finds out that her dad is an engineer, which is his interest. Frank is trying to get rid of Sammi because she has been helping around to much, but she makes it worse by causing more drama.
Debbie gets pregnant from her current boyfriend, Derek. As she tells Derek, he becomes scared and moves away far from Debbie so that he doesn't have to deal with the baby because they're only teenagers. But Debs is ready to become a mother and have a baby. Fiona disagrees with it because she does not want to deal with another newborn Gallagher. But since Debs wants it, Fiona says that she must take care of her baby on her own asking for no help from Fiona. Fiona also has a relationship with Sean, who is her boss at work. Lip gets in with a relationship with his professor, and they see no problem with it. Carl gets released out of juvie, and he changes alot with his attitude. He acts like a gangster. He also changes physically with his hair by having cornrows. Ian gets a career of a firefighter. But the boss wouldn't let him have the job because he has a bipolar disorder. With Svetlana being an immigrant and not being married to anyone in America, she tries to have Kev and V fall for her so that all three of them can get married so she can stay in America. Kev and V start to get weirded out. But as they start to get comfortable, they decide to become a thrupple.
Fiona is now single and not with a guy. As you see her all independent, she is actually better off with no guy because with guys it causes stress and drama with the relationship. Lip just got of rehab and people have been telling him that he is just like Frank as he drinks a lot and going around causing fights. He started to drink a lot because of the breakup with his professor. Ian gets a new boyfriend named Trevor. They had a healthy relationship until the police announced that Mickey escaped from jail. This means that Mickey would want to come back to Ian because he loves him. Debbie starts to get tired and stressed over her baby. She needs no help since Fiona said it in the first place. The Gallgher's want to help but Debs keeps denying it. Since Frank is away from his family, he forms a new one. More like a family replacement with different people. The only one that Frank is connected more to in the Gallagher family is Liam. He even got him into a private school. Carl has a girlfriend named Dominique, but she has been a bit distant from him. Carl later finds out that she has been cheating on him with older guys in college. He tells her dad about it and Carl and Dominique stay away from each other and not get in a relationship together. Carl later on decides that he wants to go to military school from the inspiration of Dominique's dad who is a police men. He just wants to show other people that he can be better than he was before in the past.
